INTRODUCTION

This site has been developed to illustrate the work done by Katherine Leach in her research as part of a MSc award.

A key finding of this research is that errors are currently being made in the Blood Sample Collection process.

Errors in requesting, inadequate patient identification and sample labelling can lead to significant risk to patients. The following details 'Best Practice' for test requesting, patient identification and sample labelling.
